Downtown Bryan's hot spot for fine wine and good times also boast a menu that is simply delicious. With scarcely more items than you can count on your fingers, Downtown Uncorked proves that less is more with tempting creations like Italian Nachos and a Pesto Pizza with a drizzle of Balsamic Glaze for a unique kick.

Pups On The Patio : Over 40 Canine Friendly Dining Options in Bryan-College Station

Just because a restaurant has an outdoor patio doesn't mean your furry friend of the canine variety is allowed to chill with you on said patio, as many dog owners have discovered the hard way. However, Bryan-College Station does offer a fair share of eateries that welcome pets on their patios, some even going so far as to provide water bowls and treats for their puppy patrons.

Following is a list of local restaurants that welcome dogs on their patios:

Blasts From The Past: What Restaurants Do You Miss The Most?

This photograph of the old Fatburger Northgate location brought back memories of some of my friends who worked there back in the day...and of many delicious burgers eaten in that building which was razed to build one of the new apartment complexes at Northgate.

Made me want to ask readers:

What are your favorite restaurants of the past?

What were your favorite menu items?

Please comment with your memories below...

Casa Pachita : First Taste Does Not Disappoint

Casa Pachita is the new Mexican restaurant at Texas and Southwest Parkway in the Planet Fitness Center. Walking in, you notice the bright colors on the wall (pink and green to match their eye-catching sign) and the bright smiles on the faces that greet you.

Several friends have been urging me to give this unassuming and totally authentic Mexican eatery a try and now I see why. Great and unique Maxican food!

Cenare Delivers Local Flavor

Love everything I've ever had at Cenare. Tonight, I had the gnocci in a Pomadoro sauce... Love the perfect kick of garlic in the sauce and the Gnocci were awesome as usual.

Bonehead's Grill Is A Smart Move For A Healthy, Flavorful Meal

If you're looking for a smart place to eat a healthy and delicious lunch or dinner, you need to know about Boneheads Grill on University.

The fare is healthy without sacrificing flavor... In fact, their special Piri Piri sauces and spice blends are quite famous for their flavor, both locally and nationally.

Tonight, I tried the Shrimp Skewer topped with pineapple salsa with a side of grilled sweet potatoes. The grilled shrimp were plentiful and nearly infused with flavor. Hats off to whoever crafted that spice rub and marinade combo. The pineapple salsa was quite delish too.

Bryan's La Espiga Dorada Bakery Known for Breads, Sweets

After a night of good times and great music at Revolution on Carnegie Alley in Downtown Bryan, local burger legend Charles Stover introduced me to his favorite local taco stand, El Nopalito on MLK. He also pointed out the bakery right behind El Nopalito and raved about the breads and sweets.

Finally, after a RARE daylight trip to El Nopalito, I stopped by La Espiga Dorada Bakery to check it out.

La Riviera Serves Lunch Worth Celebrating

Celebrated a great start to the week with lunch at La Riviera at Texas Avenue and East North Avenue in Bryan.

Chef Alfonso's delicious Spinach Gorgonzola Salad and Grilled Salmon (recommended by the awesome server, Brandon) were culinary masterpieces, as expected. The small breads that came out before the salad were each a perfect 2 bites of heaven that left me wanting more.

Mad Taco Stands Out For Its Tortillas... & Lack Thereof

Stopped in for a quick lunch at Mad Taco today. For those of y'all that have been out of town, Mad Taco is the newest culinary creation by local Chef Peter Madden of Madden's, the casually elegant and seriously delicious restaurant in Downtown Bryan.

Mad Taco is convenient to both Bryan and College Station, behind the Bank of America building at Texas and University. The service and atmosphere were WOW, as expected. So I'll get right into the tacos I sampled, one with the world's best tortilla, the other with no tortilla at all.
